Our sister site iPhone World reports that AppSnapp, a “jailbreak” web application to be used with any iPod Touch device, was just released.
AppSnapp allows one to jailbreak his iPod Touch just by accessing the website, and also fixes a TIFF critical file exploit.
Initially all Apple iPod touch devices have a read-only mode enabled, which means one cannot install third party application on his iPod Touch. The AppSnapp iPodTouch “jailbreak” hack removes this restriction, therefore allowing you to install your favorite third party applications.

Electronics manufacturer TDK is due to release the TDK iSLIM speaker for iPod Touch and other iPod devices (it’s also compatible with other regular audio devices via a 3.5mm jack adapter).
TDK iSLIM for iPod Touch also includes an alarm clock and FM radio and features a bright LEF display and NXT flat panel speaker technology.
The price is not cheap though, as the TDK iSLIM speaker unit for iPod Touch comes at $149,99, so it’s one of the more expensive iPod Touch accessories.

A big argument is going on at the moment between Apple and wildlife defenders Greenpeace. The subject? Apple iPhone being toxic or not, reports our sister site iPhone World.
According to a Greenpeace report iPhone headphones cables appear to have 1.5% level of Phthalates (Wiki) — a toxic substance used in nail polish, caulk, adhesives, or other miscellaneous items that you’d normally not ingest.
But an Apple spokesperson said in response to this matter that “Like all Apple products worldwide, iPhone complies with RoHS [Restriction of Hazardous Substances], the world’s toughest restrictions on toxic substances in electronics. As we have said, Apple will voluntarily eliminate the use of PVC and BFRs by the end of 2008.”
At the same time it’s unknown whether the Apple iPod Touch, which should normally have the same headsets and internal components as the iPhone is suffering from the same problems, since not Greenpeace, nor no one else bothered to test it.
